Think Your Hair Can’t Be Tamed? Think Again!

Going to the hair salon or even to the supermarket to get hair-care products can be confusing. There’re so many products out there; you might not be sure which one is the best to get for your hair. Read on to learn all about hair care and hair-care products so you can make an informed choice.

A handy tip to leave you with hair that contains no knots is to comb the conditioner through your hair with a wide-toothed comb when you are applying your conditioning treatment. This will ensure the product is spread through the hair evenly, while removing any tangles you may have at the same time.

Make sure that you do not use shampoo each and every day. This can lead to your hair becoming very fragile and also dandruff over time. Try to shampoo and wash your hair two or three times per week if you want to achieve the best possible look and feel.

Help your hair to retain moisture to avoid split ends and breakage. When you are shampooing your hair, the water temperature can make quite a difference. When conditioning your hair, always use cool water to rinse it out. The cool water will help seal the moisture into your hair shaft.

If you have curly hair, put down the brush and comb! Curly hair should only be brushed or combed while it is soaking wet. For the best results, apply conditioner to your wet hair before you comb through it. Be sure to only use a wide toothed comb so as to not cause any damage. This will keep your curls looking their best.

Only wash your hair as often as you think it needs washed. Everyone’s hair is different but a good way to go about it is to wash it and condition it every other day or around 2-3 days a week depending on your daily activities and your body’s physiology.

When your hair is wet, it is in a state where the most damage can be caused to it. This is why you should avoid combing or brushing your hair when it is wet. You should dry your hair thoroughly and then, comb or brush it to smooth it down.

If regular conditioners leave your hair feeling greasy or limp, consider switching to a lightweight leave-in conditioner. These formulas are available as both, light lotions and sprays, and they tend to be much lighter than the moisture-heavy versions you use in the shower. Look for a leave-in that matches your hair type, such as color-protection sprays or anti-frizz sprays.

A satin pillowcase can be used if you want to protect your curly hair at night. Ordinary cotton pillowcases have a tendency to leach the oil and moisture out of your hair. Satin pillowcases do not absorb moisture, so your hair will remain hydrated even through the night. You can get the same effect by wearing a scarf or bonnet of satin to bed, too.
